Playing hurt v injured

Utah QB tore a ligament in his foot last week that holds bones and the arch together. The doctor said he was shocked the kid could even stand and he will need season ending surgery.

What’s remarkable is this happened before halftime and the Utah staff injected him with pain meds, put a steel plate in his shoe and made him play the 2nd half.

Earlier this season Utah QB Cam Rising suffered a season ending injury in the first quarter against ASU and Utah shot him up with pain meds and he played the rest of the game.

All of this in a season where Utah is 1-5 in conference. I understand playing hurt. I don’t understand playing injured. Especially in a throw away season.

This reminds me of Tracy Smith throwing kids 100+ pitches on opening weekend because his career needed wins more than he cared about the health of his pitchers.

Compare that to Dillingham who sits Skat even when Skat is begging to play.

ASU vs. Grand Canyon

I’ve been switching back and forth between our women’s volleyball game at West Virginia, and our women’s basketball game against Grand Canyon. What an incredible difference! Our women’s volleyball team is so well coached, and fun to watch play. Our women’s basketball team on the other hand, is almost unwatchable!😱 Just goes to show how incredibly incompetent our last AD was, that he hired our present coach. In the meantime, the coach he probably should have hired, the current coach at Grand Canyon, Molly Miller is a terrific coach. She was sitting in our own backyard the whole time. Apparently, all she’s done in her time at GCU, is win 84% of her games. Guess that kind of coaching wasn’t good enough for our former AD!🤷🏻‍♂️ Don’t know what it will take to unload our present coach, but it needs to happen!
