Double Inferno

I know this has been debated ad nauseam. This thread is more to try & get the true facts regarding it's size/real estate and if it's tied to the agreement between the student body and the athletic fee that is assessed each semester. I don't know if Justin Toscano, BigE, or any others with direct knowledge to the hearings/voting process that took place when the Fee was voted on may have access to any of this information, just trying to get answers to the following questions;

1. Is the # of sections/seats tied to a % of seats required to be allotted to students based on the athletic fee?

2. If so, can that % be revisited/renegotiated at any time with the student representation?

San Diego Devils

Hey all,

Just wanted to invite any San Diego area Sun Devils to Cerveza Jack's in PB this Saturday.

We have an area sectioned off just for ASU fans and 3 big screens with game sound. Just wanted to mention it because attendance has been way down since the Stanford game. My wife and I were the only ones there the last 2 weeks and if that continues on they may stop hosting our group. Hope it doesn't come to that so please join us on Saturday night! They have Space Dust on tap!

PAC Weekend

Stanford @ Oregon St (tonight)...Cardinal is favored by 20.5 but may not have Bryce Love who is injured (game time decision)...however, Stanford would seem to have plenty left to beat the hapless Beavers easily but, then again, you never know for sure on the road, do you..??

Cal @ Colorado...Buffs are favored by 3 and probably should win this game but they have QB issues which never helps anything...pretty impressed by what Justin Wilcox has been able to accomplish at Cal so far, so it would not surprise me in the least if the Bears won this game...

Utah @ Oregon...the Utes are favored by 3 but they are not playing well these days as we all know...the Ducks QB is still recovering from a broken collarbone but may return in a week or two...I guess you just flip a coin here...

UCLA @ Washington...the Huskies are coming off a tough loss to the Devils and a big BYE week so should handle the Bruins without much difficulty...the Huskies are favored by 17 but I think the margin of their victory will be greater than that...

Wazzu @ Arizona...the Cougs are favored by 3 and it will be interesting to see which defense is better in this game...the Cats have to defend against the potent Air Raid offense led by Luke Falk and the Cougs have to find a way to contain Khalil Tate who makes the Cats offense roll...will probably be a very high scoring game and I have no idea who will win this game...

USC @ ASU
...the Trojans are favored by 3.5 but momentum is with the Devils these days as they are trending in a very positive direction while the still talented Trojans seem to be going in the opposite direction...

If you had told me a couple of weeks ago that the Devils would be controlling their own PAC destiny at this point, I would have laughed heartily and told you that you are nuts but, here we are, as we've beaten both Wash at home and Utah on the road to get here...

Todd has gone from a Dead Man Walking to a Super Hero so what gives, exactly..??

Our up-tempo offense is now very deliberate, which seems to better fit the strengths of Wilkins and his offensive crew in what they do, while our defense doesn't blitz as much these days and lays back in zone pass coverage a lot, under Phil Bennett, that has resulted in some very important job saving wins recently...

I have my fingers crossed that the Sun Devils will find a way to beat the Trojans...Go Devils!!!

USC vs ASU Stripe the Stadium

Wow, anyone watch the Cards get blown out? Who knows when the Suns or Yotes will win their first game. Guess who's the hottest team in town right now. Even had a family member ask if I had any tickets available.

Most of us on this board are diehards and will wear maroon or gold no matter what; however, we really need to get the other fans to jump on board. These kids are playing lights out. We owe it to them to Stripe SDS.

Get the word out and Go Devils!

MUSCLE BEACH: LB A.J. Latu, OL Tyler McClure, WR Jalen Harvey, DB K.J. Jarrell

BALL/SECURITY TACKLE: Nothing too new or ground-breaking from these drills today, but here’s some video of the defensive players working on their tackling.

ASU football practice report 10.25.17

Hey guys,

ASU returned to practice today, a few days before the big game against USC.

Quick note: We usually put the location, media availability, etc. at the beginning, but I'm going to do away with that because during the season, practices are always outside at the Kajikawa Practice Fields. Media viewing is always 20-25 minutes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so why not get to the stuff you care about?

As for ball security / tackle period, it's usually the same thing. We can't glean much from those drills when we only see a couple minutes each practice, so unless something of note happens, I'll probably just leave a video or a quick observation.

For today: Login to view embedded media
MUSCLE BEACH: OL Tyler McClure

GREEN: QB Brady White

PERSONNEL NOTES: A.J. Latu was working in tackle drills and with the second team, as you'll see further down in the practice report. WR Kyle Williams once again was pretty much a full participant in practice. I didn't see Jalen Harvey take any actual snaps during the tempo or team periods. He was on the sideline, though.

Now, to the good stuff. ASU ran tempo and team sessions again. The way this will work today is that I'll chart base teams for each, but there were a lot of personnel notes to take down, so I'll put those right after and specify. Probably no reason to overreact to the amount of players getting reps, especially because we only get to see a few minutes of practice.

First team offense: QB Manny Wilkins, RB Kalen Ballage/Demario Richard, WRs N'Keal Harry/Kyle Williams/Ryan Newsome, TE Tommy Hudson, LT Cohl Cabral, LG Sam Jones, C A.J. McCollum, RG Steven Miller, RT Zach Robertson

Second team offense: QB Blake Barnett, RB Eno Benjamin, WRs John Humphrey/Frank Darby/Curtis Hodges, TE Alex Otero, LT Tyson Rising, LG Cade Cote, C Marshal Nathe, RG Alex Losoya, Quinn Bailey

Notes: So in the team period, ASU basically just ran with Manny Wilkins and the first team line. Skill players rotated in and out. Here's what I saw:

-Nick Ralston got first team reps

-Ceejhay French-Love was in there

-John Humphrey rotated in with the first team

-Nick Ralston was in there

-Curtis Hodges got some time

First team defense:

D-Line: Tashon Smallwood, George Lea, JoJo Wicker

LB: Jay Jay Wilson, DJ Calhoun, Christian Sam

SPUR: J'Marcus Rhodes

DB: CB Chase Lucas, CB Kobe Williams, S Das Tauutalatasi, S Chad Adams

Second team defense:

D-Line: Renell Wren, Jalen Bates, Shannon Forman

LB: A.J. Latu, Khaylan Thomas, Deion Guignard

SPUR: Tyler Whiley

DB: CB Alex Perry, CB Maurice Chandler, S Evan Fiels, S Demonte King

Evan Fields appeared to hurt his shoulder during practice, so Langston Frederick replaced him for team run session.

Here are a few notable plays from the team session:

-Chase Lucas picked off a Manny Wilkins pass

-Chase Lucas could've had another pick the next play, but he dropped

-Manny incomplete, intended for Harry

-Cabral got beat three straight plays and Rob Sale was not happy

That's it for today's practice report. Stay tuned for continued coverage throughout the week.
