That's what the UTenn football coach had to say about his FR QB whose NIL deal with the Vols sparked an NCAA investigation...
But, Nico Iamaleava, was a hold out over the Vols spring practice, as he wanted an even bigger NIL deal from the Vols moving forward, that makes the investigation academic, apparently, since he appears headed for the transfer portal...
And, he is, undoubtedly, headed for the Spring Transfer Portal window that starts this week on April the 16th and goes to April 25th...
As we all know, UTenn has plenty of money with which to pay multi-million dollar fines to the NCAA and plenty of money to pay players in all of their sports through NIL deals...
But, I guess, they decided they had to draw the line somewhere and they were not into being coerced into paying something akin to blackmail for Nico's services any more...
So, that leads some to speculate that the Vols will come after Sam Leavitt with some outrageous NIL deal, given his elite status these days in college football...
Of course they will, so we'll see what Dilly's culture can do to make sure he will continue playing for the Sun Devils this next season...
The Vols wallet is much fatter than the Devils and what we consider a lot, they consider chump change...
So, what are the odds that the Devils Dilly culture will be enough to keep Sam a Sun Devil this next season..??
Speaking of ASU athletic cultures, I wonder where the Bobby culture in basketball will end up being once he fills out his roster this Spring...
Of course, many fans aren't sure what the Bobby culture is all about for the most part, if you ask me...
Is it all about the team coming first or about individuals taking care of their business first on the court in a free wheeling fashion..??
It's more involved than that but Dilly's program looks organized around a team concept while we're not so sure about Bobby's program...
Additionally, we aren't too sure about many things related to Bobby's future, either...
And, for some of us, we aren't too sure what to make of Willie's Sun Devil baseball program, as well...
They seem to be doing okay but they aren't setting the world on fire either as they fritter away games right and left in their quest to make the playoffs this season...
So, from my vantage point, there is a lot to look forward to this Spring...
Will Sam Leavitt remain a Sun Devil or pivot to another school chasing those enormous NIL dollars..??
Will Bobby get enough transfer portal talent to make the Devils competitive in the Big-12 next season..??
And, will Willie's baseball crew win enough games to make the playoffs this year..??
Stay tuned...
G'day Mates and Go Devils!!!
