There's been a little confusion on defensive back commit Rodney Bimage, who tweeted out that he's signing his paperwork with ASU tomorrow.

As with any other High School prospect and Junior College prospect, for that matter, Bimage can only officially sign with ASU during the early signing period, which runs from December 20th through the 22nd. So, tomorrow is a ceremonial signing, if you will, and not an official one binding him to ASU.

And yes, he is scheduled, along with a handful of others, to enroll at ASU in the spring. Here is the list that could be subject to change down the road:

Kenny Dillingham will address the media, followed by new OC Marcus Arroyo and new DL coach Diron Reynolds.

The Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial defensive end who was very impressive at the All-American Bowl will visit Alabama this weekend. But a decision is not expected immediately after that. Carter is also expected to visit Arizona State and Washington before another commitment.

He has been granted his release from his NLI.

I am really curious as to how our RB depth will be used this season.

Skattebo: Will he be the starter & how many carries will he get?

Decarlos Brooks: Will he be the primary backup?

Kyson Brown: How much will he develop from year one to year two?

Raleek Brown: If there's a true competition, will he be given the opportunity to beat out Skateboo & Brooks? He is really similar to what Dilly had at Oregon with Irving & Noah Whittington.

Jason Brown: Also similar to Irving & Noah Whittington. Is he good enough as a true freshman to get enough carries to make an impact on the offense?

Tevin White: Is he ever going to become the stud we all expected coming out of HS? He has the size, speed and hands to contribute. Question is, will he be given the opportunity to succeed?

George Hart III: Does George (a true Sun Devil) see the field outside the possibility of injuries?

*I'd love to see packages that include Raleek Brown & Jason Brown on the field at the same time. Both could be dangerous in Jet Sweeps, Bubble Screens, slants and have the hands to be able to beat LB's over the top. Speed baby🔥

As you can imagine, the sports pages down here are all centered on the Cats hiring of Brent Brennan to be their next head football coach...

One of the things that caught my attention was the comparison between what he had in terms of financial resources at San Jose St and what he'll have at AU...

In 2022, San Jose St spent $9.3M on football operating expenses that put the Spartans 11th lowest in the country...

The median in the Mountain West Conference was $13.2M and the median in the FBS was $21.3M while AU spent $26.6M...

In contrast, Alabama spent $78.5M while Washington spent $70.5M which the Daily Star points out says a lot about why Fisch left AU for UW...

I don't know how much ASU spends on its football program but would assume that it is somewhere in the vicinity of what the Cats spend on their program...

The newspaper article goes on to point out that at San Jose St before their game with USC this past season the program had to raise money to buy breakfast for their players...

Additionally, the Spartans practice field that they shared with the men's and women's soccer teams had a broken goal post and the football staff had to put up over 120 folding chairs to hold team meetings...

I don't think that Brent Brennan will have to worry about any of those types of circumstances at AU...

Brennan is a Dick Tomey disciple (and AU alum whose wife is also an alum) and will be at AU for the long term which is one of the key reasons the Cats hired him...

He did not have a gaudy record at San Jose St (34-48 and 25-30) where he coached for seven years but, after his first three seasons there, his teams were very competitive going 26-19 and 21-10 with three bowl game appearances in four years...

One now wonders what he will be able to do with a lot more resources at AU than he ever had at San Jose St...

And, he has certainly walked into a much better situation at AU than what Dilly walked into at ASU, especially if he can keep many of the Cats key players in place...

It will be interesting to see if Dilly can close the gap on the teams that clobbered the Devils this past season that included the Cats, especially since the Cats now have a new coach in place...

Wondering if that guy is a good fit for the head job. Some seem to think so. I see other people that are a better fit but I wonder if that is Fisch's offense or does he have a big role in it.
